Sea Critters

Sea Critters is a 6x6" hand-carved linoleum block print on 8x8" paper made in two variations: Teal Ink on pale blue handmade Lokta paper and teal ink on handmade slate blue mango leaf paper. These prints are in an open edition and will be reprinted as many times as the artist chooses. All prints are signed, dated, and labled "OE" for open edition.

This print is an ode to childhood whimsy amazement of seeing the ocean for the first time and imagining all of the sea creatures who dance below the surface. Inspired by a traditional collector’s case of small critter friends, this print features: cone shell, jelly fish, cowrie shell, squid, oyster shell, nudibranch (sea slug), scallop shell, sea horse, and tiger manta ray.  These little critters in conversation with the print “The Bug Collector” which is of the same dimensions but featuring insects  

*Please note that due to the nature of hand-carved linoleum block printing, every print will have its own unique quality. Each edition is inspected to be the best quality and similar, but I cannot ensure exact replica of the print pictured on this site. Part of the magic of printmaking is all of the print-specific marks like "noise" or carving marks that add to the feel of the print. Please take note of this when ordering.
