Mushroom Fae

'Mushroom Fae' is an 11x14 inch hand-carved linoleum block print and hand-made paper. The print is available in three different paper options as supplies last: natural white, natural brown, and natural green.

'Mushroom Fae'  features two Black fat-femme faes lounging alongside their mushroom and snail friends. They are at ease reading books and relaxing in the glorious sunlight. Created during the midst of the pandemic (pre-vaccinations), MC wanted to re-center the joy and pleasure of Black folx in the "cottage core" aesthetic. Typically in this aesthetic, faeries are shown with wildly flat stomachs and pale white complexions, MC wanted to explore what it looks like for diverse bodies (like the one they live in) to play a central role in "cottage-core" motifs. 

'Mushroom Fae' is the sister print to 'Faerie Scape'.

*Please note that due to the nature of hand-carved linoleum block printing, every print will have its own unique quality. Each edition is inspected to be the best quality and similar, but I cannot ensure exact replica of the print pictured on this site. Part of the magic of printmaking is all of the print-specific marks like "noise" or carving marks that add to the feel of the print. Please take note of this when ordering.
