Intertwine

Intertwine is a 12x18” hand-carved linoleum block print made on handmade Thai Banana Leaf paper in black oil-based ink. Prints are limited edition, signed, dated, and numbered out of 40.

Created, originally, as a commission for some dear friend's wedding, Intertwine is an ode to the unending devotion of the love as a prayer. Inspired by traditional Islamic prayer rugs and Celtic love knots, this print depicts two flamingos in the mango groves, deep in love and admiration. These two flamingos, a playful nod to Baltimore queer community,  playful companions deep in the water where love flourishes and partnership is found.

*Please note that due to the nature of hand-carved linoleum block printing, every print will have its own unique quality. Each edition is inspected to be of the best quality and similar, but I cannot ensure exact replica of the print pictured on this site. Part of the magic of printmaking is all of the print-specific marks like "noise" or carving marks that add to the feel of the print. Please take note of this when ordering.
