Faerie Scape

'Faerie Scape' is a 14x14 inch hand-pressed linoleum block print on hand-made paper. The print is available in three paper colorways: natural white, natural brown, natural green, and Ochre (mustard yellow).

'Faerie Scape'  features two Black fat-femme faes lounging on a branch of a tree which also happens to be their home. They are at ease stretching and relaxing while watching the clouds drift by. The tree house and the fae reside amongst a beautiful field of wildflowers. Created during the midst of the pandemic (pre-vaccinations), MC wanted to re-center the joy and pleasure of Black folx in the "cottage core" aesthetic. Typically in this aesthetic, faeries are shown with wildly flat stomachs and pale white complexions, MC wanted to explore what it looks like for diverse bodies (like the one they live in) to play a central role in "cottage-core" motifs. 

'Faerie Scape is the sister print to 'Mushroom Fae'.

Each edition is inspected to be the best quality and similar, but I cannot ensure exact replica of the print pictured on this site. Part of the magic of printmaking is all of the print-specific marks like "noise" or carving marks that add to the feel of the print. Please take note of this when ordering.
