Dykes To Watch Out For

'Dykes To Watch Out For' is a 12x18 inch hand-carved linoleum block print on gorgeous Japanese Kinwashi paper. Kinwashi paper is a stunning delicate yes strong paper Andé with long Manila fibers. The paper has a cream color and visible plant fibers laced throughout.

This print was inspired by the powerful writings of Alison Bechdel, famous lesbian author of Fun Home and author of 25 years of comics titled "Dykes to Watch Out For"-- the namesake of the print. As a self-identified Dyke, this print speaks to the immense power I feel when I choose to reclaim the word and identify with it as a sexual identity, gender identity, and politic.

Each edition is inspected to be the best quality and similar, but I cannot ensure exact replica of the print pictured on this site.
